Alzheimer's and It's Role In Long Term Care Awareness

Posted 9 years 125 days ago ago by Mary

When it comes to planning for long term care one of the biggest illnesses seniors are facing is Alzheimer’s. Although many individuals believe that Alzheimer’s only affects elderly individuals, there is a small percentage of people in their 40's and 50's that are affected by early on-set Alzheimer’s. There are 10 warning signs that should be observed to determine whether or not a family member is experiencing the early on-set of Alzheimer’s:

1. Memory loss that disrupts daily life.

2. Difficulty planning.

3. Difficulty completing familiar tasks.

4. Disorientation with regard to time or place.

5. Trouble understanding images and spatial relationships.

6. New problems with words in speaking or writing.

7. Misplacing things.

8. Decreased or poor judgment.

9. Withdrawal from society.

10. Changes in mood and personality.
